14 Oct Susan Higdon Retiring
After 26 years with the firm, Susan Higdon has retired from Structural Design Group in September 2025.
Susan graduated from Tennessee Tech University with a BS in Marketing and worked for several years in a variety of marketing and client service rolls. She spent 3 years as Marketing Coordinator at Stanley D. Lindsey and Associates before joining Structural Design Group in August 1999. Susan was among the first employees hired by SDG, assuming the role of Marketing Director, and helping up set up and run the new office. She was responsible for all aspects of Marketing communications, proposals, design, social media, digital presence, and client relations. Susan also assisted in a variety of roles over the years including insurance administration, human resources, corporate licensing and regulations, company event planning and office management.

“Having worked at SDG for almost half my life, SDG has been so important to me and played a huge role in my family’s life. I’m so grateful to the partners at SDG for placing trust in me to help fulfill their vision of the company. I’ve so enjoyed the friendships with my coworkers and their families and watching our families all grow over the years. I’ll miss seeing and talking with everyone at SDG on a daily basis, but I’ll continue to value the friendships made. I’m excited to have more free time to spend at home with family and friends, playing golf and traveling.”
