Zak began working for SDG in 2017 following his graduation from the University of Kentucky and was promoted to Associate Principal in 2024. He is responsible for all phases of project design and management for a wide variety of projects at SDG. Zak has significant experience in the design of large, complex healthcare facilities across the country and has extensive experience in the high-wind design areas of Florida and high-seismic areas of Nevada. He holds both a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Tennessee and a Structural Engineer (S.E.) license in Nevada, specifically designed for engineers practicing in jurisdictions that license structural engineers separately from other professional engineers and focuses on design in areas of high seismicity and high wind.
Zak is a member of the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), the Structural Engineers Association of Tennessee (TNSEA), and is an Associate Committee Member of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) serving on the “Footings, Mats, and Drilled Piers” and “Anchorage to Concrete” committees.
